The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) has published its first official statistics on the gender pensions gap revealing a 35% gap in the median private pension wealth between men and women around normal minimum pension age (NMPA) between 2018 and 2022. 'The Gender Pensions Gap in Private Pensions' published today (5 June) is based on the Annual Survey of Hours and Earnings (ASHE) in 2022 and showed that for workers who were eligible for auto-enrolment (AE) into their workplace pension scheme, the gap reduced to 32%.
