Troy Asset Management's Tom Yeowart explains the appeal of multi-asset investing and how a firm's demise worked in his favour.

The failure of a company is not usually seen as a good thing for its employees but for multi-asset manager Tom Yeowart, it was this outcome that led to a very positive opportunity career-wise.  Having started his fund management career on the private client side at Brewin Dolphin, Yeowart moved to Icelandic firm Kaupthing Singer & Friedlander in 2008.  However, a few months after he started, the firm went into administration amid the global financial crisis after its parent company and Iceland's largest bank, Kaupthing, collapsed.
