Just over a decade ago, Business Insider CEO Henry Blodget published an article titled The Odds Are Increasing That Microsoft's Business Will Collapse. As the rather hyperbolic headline suggests, Blodget made the case that one of the world's largest technology companies was in a death spiral and could even cease to exist. Since that piece was published, Microsoft has increased in value ten-fold and almost tripled its revenue - a remarkable feat for a company that was already making over $60bn a year.
