Helena Morrissey, head of personal investing at LGIM, has been appointed a dame in the Queen's Birthday Honours list for improving diversity in financial services.

She was chief executive of Newton Investment Management for 15 years before stepping down last August, and was also chair of the Investment Association. Morrissey, who was previously awarded a CBE, has championed greater diversity and transparency in the asset management industry and the wider business community throughout her career.
