As we pass the mid-way point of the year and we reflect on what has happened in the investment management industry year-to-date, it is hard to remember events preceding the Woodford blow-up.

We started the year believing the UK would leave the European Union in three short months' time but, although Brexit has continued to dominate headlines, the actual departure has not happened. This can has been kicked down the road to Halloween, but the prospect of a second referendum is still being touted; one theme surrounding the Brexit saga has continued, that being ‘uncertainty'. The first half was also dominated by a number of people moves, particularly at a CEO level.
