Goldman Sachs AM: Social bonds are entering 'investing mainstream'

A large portion of European investors are already invested or are about to invest in social bonds, a survey by Goldman Sachs Asset Management found.

In a study of 722 investors across 11 European countries, including the UK, 65% said they currently allocate or are considering allocating to social bonds. LGIM shutters green bond ETF Goldman said the results of its Investing in Inclusive Growth study showed social bonds were no longer a fixed income niche but have entered the "investing mainstream". The expansion has been largely driven by the outbreak of Covid when governments ramped up the issuance of finance programmes to protect public health and their respective economies.
