Global ETF assets under management are set to double in the next five years, reaching $20trn by 2026, according to PwC.
The report, titled ‘ETF 2026: The next big leap', found that ETFs had a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 22% since 2005, and predicted a decrease to 17% for ETFs to hit $20trn. ETFs are also seeing record growth in the Asia-Pacific region and Canada, with bullish survey participants expecting ETF AuM in the region to rise to at least $2trn by 2026 in the Asia-Pacific region and 42% of survey participants expecting that Canadian ETF AuM will reach at least $1trn by 2026.
