A newly-coined acronym CASSH – which stands for Canada, Australia, Singapore, Switzerland and Hong Kong – has caught the attention of investment professionals. Industry commentators have suggested the CASSH collection of countries could offer a strong alternative to emerging markets, although others see it merely as the latest marketing gimmick. Russ Koesterich, managing director and chief investment strategist at iShares, coined the CASSH acronym in a recent research note.
