British Empire Trust appoints Noble as chairman

The £831m British Empire Trust has appointed non-executive director Susan Noble as chairman, effective from 20 December 2017, as part of the company's wider continuing process of refreshing the board.

Noble replaces Strone Macpherson, who has been the firm's chairman since December 2007 and non-executive director since 2002. She also currently holds the position of chairman of Newton Investment Management and associate director at Manchester Square Partners, having also previously been chairman of Alliance Trust Investments.
