BNP Paribas has launched the THEAM Quant World Climate Carbon Offset Plan fund following the launch of its European strategy in March 2019.
The fund, managed using a team-based quant approach, provides exposure to equities selected for demonstrating high environmental, social and governance standards and which have robust energy transition strategy and a lower carbon footprint than their benchmarks. The remaining carbon footprint (Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions) of the portfolio will be offset every quarter through the purchase of Verified Emission Reductions (VERs) certificates, issued by the Project Kasigau Corridor REDD+ in Kenya.
