The Big Interview: Mirabaud AM's CEO on why the Geneva-founded firm is a UK asset manager at heart

The last time Lionel Aeschlimann sat down for a Big Interview with Investment Week was nearly a decade ago. Only two years into the launch of Mirabaud Asset Management, he said the business was “a start-up with deep roots”.

Founded in 1819, the Geneva-based private bank Mirabaud Group boasts of a long and successful history. However, when Aeschlimann joined the group as managing partner in the aftermath of the Global Financial Crisis, he saw an opportunity to bring its asset management capabilities out of the shadows.  Since then, Mirabaud AM has grown its assets under management to CHF 9.5bn (£8.5bn) of client money in traditional and alternative investments, and has more than 100 staff.
