AIC appoints ex-Share Centre boss Stone as chief executive

Richard Stone, formerly CEO of The Share Centre, has been appointed chief executive of the Association of Investment Companies (AIC).

The appointment will take effect from 13 September, and after a short handover period, the current chief executive, Ian Sayers, will step down in October. Previously, Stone was chief executive of Share plc from 2014 to 2020 and was finance director from 2006 to 2013. During that time the company listed on the AIM stock exchange, grew and was sold to interactive investor in July 2020.
