Gary Potter tells Laura Dew why he and co-manager Rob Burdett believe there are 'more ladders than snakes' for investors today, and why they are looking again at emerging markets.

Potter and Burdett's MM Navigator range launched when the pair joined Thames River in 2007 and includes Distribution, Boutique, Moderate, Progressive and Select funds. Their mandate expanded in 2011, following Thames River’s acquisition by F&C, to include a Lifestyle fund range. The F&C MM Navigator Distribution fund is the flagship in F&C’s multi-manager range, and recently passed £1bn in assets under management.  It has returned 35.1% over three years to 27 November, versus a sector average of 26.8%, while over one year it has seen returns in line with the benchmark of 5.7%, accordi...
